WESCOUSTIC™ ACOUSTICAL FOAMS

WesCoustic™ Acoustical Foam - Perforated Vinyl Face
WesCoustic™ Barrier Foam with a Perforated Vinyl Face is a sandwich composite incorporating two layers of acoustical foam and a single barrier septum. When applied to sheet metal, plastic or wood, the isolation foam layer, typically 1/4” (6 mm) thick, decouples the barrier while the thicker absorption layer reduces airborne sound. This economical acoustical system is formulated to provide maximum noise reduction in the harshest environment by adding a perforated vinyl face. The perforation pattern has been engineered to provide maximum absorption and resilience. This product can be purchased with a Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) backing.

WesCoustic™ Acoustical Foam - Aluminized Polyester Face
WesCoustic™ Aluminized Polyester Faced Foam provides enhanced low frequency absorption characteristics, but is specifically designed for use in environments hostile to unprotected foam. Our flexible polyurethane open cell foams are manufactured to optimize pore size, air flow resistance and density. These polyester films, plain and reinforced, offer abrasion resistance and are unaffected by moisture, lubricants, fuels, dirt and a variety of solvents. The film is easily wiped clean and seams may be taped for a finished appearance.

WesCoustic™ Acoustical Foam - Urethane Film Face
WesCoustic™ Urethane Film Faced Foams are designed to provide maximum absorption of airborne sound with minimum thickness and weight. These flexible polyurethane open cell foams are manufactured to optimize pore size, air flow resistance and density. Our foams are durable as well as abrasion and puncture resistant. These urethane films are heat laminated to form a decorative, textured surface, and can be made impervious to most petroleum products, moisture and dirt. Matte facing can be added to give a more pronounced decorative rosette pattern.

WesCoustic™ Sound Damping Floormats
WesCoustic™ Floormats are noise control materials designed to achieve maximum attenuation over a broad frequency range. A single layer of open or closed cell foam, typically 1/4” (6 mm) or 1/2” (12 mm), is combined with a barrier. A durable wear resistant surface is on top of the barrier, which is applied without the aid of adhesives that can fail under the extreme conditions floormats are subjected to. Standard applications include trucks, busses, construction equipment and agricultural machinery as well as runners and fatigue mats. This material can be purchased with a PSA backing and is fabricated to customer specifications. Two thicknesses are available: 3/8” and 5/8”. This material has been optimized to economically provide high transmission loss, high noise reduction coefficients and damping. High transmission loss is the barrier’s ability to impede airborne noise. High noise reduction coefficients is the foam’s ability to absorb airborne sound energy with minimum reflections. Damping is the composite’s ability to attenuate structure-borne vibration on metals and plastics, thereby reducing radiated noise and material fatigue.
